What a weekend!

Thursday night, my MIL and I took the girls to the rides at Sertoma Park, since it was free. Fun but a late night. We got home about 10 pm and I drank a few beers with the neighbors, my husband and our dear friend from here but living in KS.

Friday night was our anniversary and we went and had a 1/2 order of nachos to share and I had a margerita. We then went to the Oar for drinks. 2 Clam Diggers & 2 beers there.... Then to the Grand Round for a shared order of fajitas and a mudslide.

Saturday was a wedding. We went to brunch before though. I didn't eat too bad considering I ate only twice that day. I drank 2 beers that night.

Sunday we had brunch with my FIL and then went boating on the river. I ate too much at brunch!

I forgot to add that Wade was off. I didn't get any exercise in Friday, Saturday or Sunday! Well, except for danicing with my girls all night long!!

So... if I gain this week, I know why!

Sick Baby

Well, Saturday, Sunday and Monday Taylor has been running a fever. I thought it may be teething until Sunday afternoon her fever spiked at 101. I thought that was too high for teething. She has been fussy and clingy. Yesterday she started to develop a cough aside from her runny nose too. Lucky me! Please baby, feel better soon!

Happy Memorial Day!

Monday Weigh-In
I did see another negative number this week, but not suprisingly after last week's large number, this on is small. I lost 0.6 lbs. For a total of 18.4 lbs in 6 weeks.

This morning I woke up at 5:15, before my alarm went off. I had my "other" alarm howling. Poor Taylor is getting her eye teeth and had snot and drool all the way to her neck. I gave her some Tylenol, rocked her got her more milk and finally had to bring her into my bed (which usualy she hates!) to finally get her back to sleep. My goal - another hour for her to sleep= Mommy gets work out time!

Yesterday I was exhausted from 2 late nights and did not feel like working out, so slept in (with Taylor in my bed). Wade left to go fishing for the day (turned out to be the WHOLE day!). I took the girls to Grandma's to drop off cases of wine and a table we borrowed. I was going to go buy tomoto plats - but she had 2 extra cherry sprouts and an extra big tomato plant. She also gave the girls flower plants. We ran to the store and then potted the girls flowers, planted the tomatoes and planted seeds for zuchinni, squash, butternut squash and green beans. I then worked out with Alex as my helper. She was mad that she didn't have enough room to do Jillian with me (I do it downstairs, which isn't a huge space anyway!). She then got a ring pop and to watch sponge bob while I did the eliptical. Bribes always work! :o)

Tomorrow's Weigh-in

I am scared to weigh in tomorrow. I still worked out every day this week, the same if not more intensity no matter if I felt like it or not. I had a Mary Kay party on Friday night and had a few wine slushes, Saturday we had a BBQ with our neighbors and I ate both desserts that were brought - a peanut butter rice krispy treat with chocolate frosting and a chocolate pudding with cool whip pie with oreo crust. YUM! Okay, I also had a wine slush and 3 or 4 MGD 64's. Today for lunch I had leftovers from the BBQ - I love potato salad (only what me, My Mom or my sister make though)! I did buy light buns and FF dogs - it was the extras I did not plan for that sent me over! :o)
We'll see how I do in the morning. Until then, I will saok in the tub and enjoy!

A new bag to show!

Yesterday I didn't feel like working out. I turned Jillian off before it really started and did 20 min on the eliptical instead. I paid for it today. I did Jillian plus 30 min on the eliptical to make up for yesterday.

I have a new/old Zag Bag the debut:

This is the Zonia Bag. It was made with rivets near the circles, you can kind of see them in this picture. This bag, if you designed it goes for $100 plus shipping and tax - of course! They now changed the style, because having the rivets limited the fabrics that would endure the weight on the rivets. So.... this one is FOR SALE! I will sell if for $70 OBO.

Give me a call at 701-425-3440 to book a party or for this bag (or the others pictured way below!).

Week 5 Weigh-In

Well, after 5 weeks of doing Weight Watchers, 2.5 weeks of morning workouts, I am proud to say.....
I LOST 3.6 POUNDS this week! I have lost 17.8 lbs in 5 weeks!
I don't know if stepping up and doing Jillian's 2nd workout did it, or the combo with eating most of my weekly points. Either way, I am estatic! I have 7.2 lbs to my origional goal (6 weeks from now). I say origional, because I don't think I am going to stop at that - which is the maximum healthy weight for my height. Well, see....

My favorite part of a day

My favorite part of a day is when I rock my baby Taylor Grace. Still, at now 17 months (yesterday), I rock her to sleep for her nap and bedtime. I know she is getting old for this and she doesn't always fall asleep while rocking anymore... but I still enjoy my snuggle time with her. I used to rock her while nursing her to sleep in her quiet bedroom, so now I continue the routine with a sippy cup. I know that it has been almost 2 months since my miscarriage, but this routine helped me through those hard moments. To hold and cherish my baby. I know if I did not miscarry before (Dec 06), I would not have Taylor to cuddle. There were many nights in March and April that I cried and prayed as I rocked her. Just thanking God for giving me my girls to love and trying to find some understanding of why he would take another pregnancy away from us. Also, to pray for another baby. I know that this is also why I have thrown myself so hard into working out, to keep my mind off of what isn't. It may be selfish thoughts, but we have 2 neighbors who are very pregnant, there is a gal at MOPS who the day I told my table I miscarried was telling hers that she was pregnant, plus a few other gals that I know that are very pregant. We got a call the other day to tell us that friends of ours in Kansas are expecting, a surprise. She has 3 boys by a previous marriage and they have 2 boys together and she is pregnant and due in October. I think we are going to see them this summer and it makes me sad since I would have been due the month after her.

I do have a cute/happy thing to share on this topic. The other night Alex really wanted to pray. Wade told her that we pray at bedtime, she was in her room, waiting to pray... I finally told her that she doesn't have to pray at bedtime, or in her room, or in the dark. She can pray where and whenever she wants. So in the living room, she folded her hands and said,
"Dear God, please give us another baby to make Mommy happy. Amen!"

I have been up this morning since about 3:45 am. I love to rock my baby, but not so much at quater to four in the morning! She did not sleep soundly until about 5:30 when I came downstairs to allow Jillian to kick my butt- then did the eliptical. It is going to be a long day!

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Well, my Weigh-in day isn't for another 2 days. I have ate almost all of my weekly points this week, which is unusual for me. However, according to the scale last night and this morning, I am still losing weight. This morning after breakfast, with my sweats on I was down over a pound from last week! That excites me! I have not worked out today. Since I did not get up at 5:30 am any other day the H was off, I decided to sleep in today too, but Taylor woke at 6:30 - so not too much sleeping in! I will have to get up in the morning to workout before the muchkins wake since the H goes back to work. Tomorrow is Jillian too! I am still sore, but keep doing it! I guess eventually I will be one hot Mama - or that is what Alex calls me! :o)

Last night neither of us felt like eating leftovers, so we ate at Red Lobster instead! I had a coupon for $4 off plus a giftcard I got for my birthday. I ate the wood fired salmon and steamed snow crab legs. Alex would have preffered to have crab legs to her fried shrimp! Taylor ate french fries, croutons, biscuit a few shrimp and mashed potatoes. (Carbs anyone?) I tried to giving her a taste of crab and she spit it out. :o) Kids!

Work out 2

Yesterday I decided not to get up early to work out. I went to the Moms Club business meeting, had lunch at home, then took Alex with me to take the recycling and go to the grocery store. Alex then fell asleep (Taylor was home with Daddy, napping) and I got my workout in. I decided to step up the 30 day shred and try level 2. OMG! I think Jillian was trying to kill me. I then did 60-70 steps per minute on the eliptical for 20 minutes. I was dripping with sweat.

This morning after Taylor woke up crying at 5 am, I decided I was not staying up to work out today. She woke up again about 6 and I pulled her into bed with us where she snuggled for another hour. Then my wonderful husband got up with her and let me sleep. I sat with the girls for almost an hour before I decided to go downstairs to work out. I did 45 min on the eliptical at only about 50 steps per minute because every muscle in my body hurts today. The husband then mowed the lawn and left to go golfing. I get to go to Moms Night Out tonight, so I guess it is fair.

I don't think I said in my weigh in post, but this is the lowest I have weighed since I got pregnant with Taylor in April 2007.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Well, today I got up to workout and Taylor started fussing. Take my shoes off, run up the stairs, rock her, put her back down. Work our 20 minutes, she is screaming again. So, I cut my workout short to go take care of her. I don't care how much I want to or like to workout - that cannot compare with the joy of cuddling and comforting your baby as they drift back to sleep.

I made chocolate chocolate chip muffins to take to the Moms Club brunch this morning. Yeah, I put too much baking soda in and I tried to scoop it out... yeah, my muffins are chocolate blobs. They still taste good, but this proves that I am not perfect (sorry!).

Taylor did sleep on the couch while I makde my chocolate blobs and showered. Alex is thrilled that I am wearing the shirt that I painted with them on Mother's Day. They put thier hands and feet prints on it and then I let Alex paint on it a little.

Today I am allowing myself to eat all the goodies that the ladies are making and bringing, but I need to leave the house to stop at Starbucks on the way! :o) My sis got me a $25 GC for there for my b-day! Gotta LOVE her!

Monday Weigh-In!

Down another 1.4 lbs! That is 14.2 lbs in 4 weeks! I guess it is working. I kicked my workout up a notch this morning in celebration! :o)

So, maybe 50 AP's wasn't right. I posted on the WW boards that I was proud of my accomplishment and was flamed to no end. Some days those boards are so unfriendly! I kept saying that it didn't matter because I wasn't eating them (the AP's) anyway. I think I was a little b!tchy anyway since it was M Day and my H was working. :o(

We made a WW recipe for brownies (yes, BOTH girls helped!) and had it with ice cream. MIL, SFIL and Gma came over to indulge with us so the H could give them their gifts. The girls and the H got me a pair of capris (SIZE 12! - and they FIT!), a candle holder with the bible passage from our wedding and a necklace. I am off to look for me other size 12 jeans, because I think they will fit now!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Yesterday morning, I noticed stuff on the outside of Taylor's ear. Not food, but something and it was dry. Yuck... that is not supposed to happen! So, I do what every grown, responsible woman would do, I called my Mom. She used to be a Medical Assistant, so she has worked many years in the doctor's office. No answer, crap! I got the girls jackets and shoes on and out the door we went. Took her to the walk-in clinic and she has a raging double ear infection and the ear I noticed oozing, the ear drum ruptured from the pressure. So, this Mother's Day, please pass me the terrible Mommy award. She got some lovely pink stuff, otherwise known as Amoxicillian. She is to take it 3x a day and I pushed it to give her 3 doses yesterday - and she finally slept through the night last night!

My big milestone for today is that I have earned 50 Activity Points this week. For 9 days now I have woke at 5:30 to workout. I rotate between the 30 day shred and 20 min on the eliptical or 45 min on the eliptical. I do have to admit that today, I only did 25 min... but even I deserve a break sometime, right? Watch, I will feel quilty and squeeze 20 min in when Tay is napping. :o)

So, for my Mother's Day, I am going to clean the house because we are having the H's Mom, Step-Dad and Grandma over tonight for dessert, after the H gets home from work. I bought items and assembled gift baskets for them, bought and wrote the cards - but I feel he should give them the gifts. (Right?) I am going to try a Weight Watchers recipe for brownies. I think I found one that is 2 pts and one that is 3 pts. I am leaning towards making them in a muffin tin too - so it is easier portion control for me too. It is way too easy to just cut them bigger. We will serve (and eat) them with light ice cream too! I will definitely save some points for that! Tomorrow is weigh-in day, so I will post my results!

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Well, Taylor woke crying about 11 pm and again about 1:30. Luckily she went back to sleep easily. Wade went to work about 4:30 am and my alarm went off at 5:30. I did not want to get out of bed! I turned my alarm off and laid in bed. After 5 minutes, I knew I had to get up. Once the kids are up, I would not have time or energy to try to work out. Even trying to keep Alex busy while I work out is hard. I did the shred dvd, it is hard but getting easier. I am still on level one, today my goal was to not cheat. I am good at doing lower body and letting my upper body rest 1/2 the time. :o) I did everything with exception to the butt kicks. That is just too hard on my knee. I did the eliptical afterwards. My only complaint is that I do not like how weekend TV programing is different than weekday. I like the shows I watch while working out! Since my life does not run on M-F, I don't think MY TV should either! (We don't have a cable box or DVD player in the computer room where the eliptical is.)

Friday, May 8, 2009

Well, yesterday was our last MOPS session. What had me pumped is that two gals asked me if I had lost weight! That really fuels my excitement to keep this up!

This morning I did 45 min on the eliptical. I woke up before my alarm because my oldest was calling me. Her comforter fell off her bed and she couldn't find her baby. She has this swim doll that she has clung to since she was about 22 mo (when we found out we were moving). It is hard, it has been sewn 3-4 times and looks ratty. She loves her "Baby Al-dra" though! I did not feel like working out at all. My stomach was growling, I am getting a cold. I didn't want to go back to bed, just not exert any energy. Taylor started crying at 10 pm and again at 1 am. The H was able to calm her - I hope it is only teething.

I did step on the scale this morning, because I tend to be a cumpulsive weigher. I was shocked to see it read - UP 0.8 or a lb! I have earned 37 Activity points so far this week and only eaten 3-4 weekly points... I may have to adjust this to see results. My body probably is in starvation mode with 45 min of exercise and 23 points a day.

When I had one toddler, I was told that every family has a "spirited" child. It was also implied that Alex was that. Well, if she is spirited, which I am not arguing with, than her sister is much more spirited. Taylor throws huge tantrums if she doesn't get her way, plus is usually only a step away following after her sister.

I'm Exhausted!

My oldest woke and called for me 5 times between 12-1 last night. Water, knocked her blanket off her bed, etc. The little one is teething and was crying at 4 am. Of course, I got up and gave her milk (sippy), some tylenol and rocked her. I feel guilty rocking my 16 mo old... but they are only little once, right?

I initally dismissed my alarm and was going to go back to sleep. Feeling guilty, listening to my husband snore and trying to figure out when I would would out later today, I decided to get up about 5 min after my alarm went off. While doing Jillian, I noticed that I can see some definition in my belly (I won't say abs since it is still quite the baby bouda belly!) and that I think my legs look slimmer. I guess working out is paying off.

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Well, yesterday's ankle problems are history. My ankle must have went back in how it is meant to be - which is great - no more pain! Today I hit the elliptical for 45 minutes.

Last night I had a first, well almost. Since Wade had to work on my birthday, we did gifts and dinner out last night. I was pretty nervous to have dinner out and flipped between wanting to eat everything and wanting to eat well. We choose Applebees so I could pick my point value (if they are right!), I had a chicken and portabello sandwich with fresh fruit. I also had a side salad to not feel deprived.

Taylor slent our entire meal dipping a cucumber then french fries in the honey mustard. They brought ice cream for the girls and Taylor didn't even get a bite because she puked. She was fine the rest of the night, so we think it is from the honey mustard.

She was fine the rest of the night. We rented movies (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Marley & Me and Bride Wars). We watched Marley & Me last night. I knew it had a miscarriage seen in it similar to our first one. I was okay with that, but cried like a baby at the end. The other movies will be watched today most likely. I also informed Wade that I get a few hours out to browse or shop - because I need to get out away from my girls. :o)

My Thoughts

Well, I was thinking of how much I have learned in 3 weeks of being on WW. So far, my snack choices are healthy and instead of grabbing the bag of (baked) chips, I now will just grap a couple, or even an apple. I have also made a point to drink more fluids. I haven't given up my coffee or Coke Zero's through the day though.

Amazing enough, I got off caffiene when we were trying to get pregnant. Yea, as soon as I miscarried, I started up again.

One factor on my workouts stems from a car accident 8.5 years ago. I was in an off-center, head-on collision. I shattered my left leg. They never did x-rays of my ankle then, but inserted a rod in my shin-bone (through my knee). I had a lot more pain in my ankle during that recovery... not that there was any more they could do. Ahh... my doc then was Dr. Cutie-patootie! :o) Really, his name is Dr. David Thorsett in Salem, OR. Going to him was a reason to attempt to shave my leg! Anyway, I had a subsequent surgery to remove the screws that were rubbing on a ligament in my knee and a doc wanted to put an implant in my ankle because it wasn't sitting in the joint properly. I refused any more medical intervention than necessary (really, would THAT hurt later?!). So, right now I know my ankle isn't "right", but it will be out for a few days and then be fine. I played on a softball league weeks after my second surgery, so if I can live with that - I can live wit it all! I guess that is enough getting this out. It is not like anyone really reads my blog. :o)

Monday/Birthday Weigh-In

I am down another 1.6 lbs!
That makes 12.8 lbs in 3 weeks!
I added exercise this week. I wake at 5:30 before I have "Helpers". One day I do 45 min on the eliptical and the next I do the 30 day shred DVD and 20 min on the eliptical. I am back upstairs by 6:30 to jump in the shower before my little alarm wakes at 7 am (I do have the baby moniter next to me in case the girls wake before I am done).
I hope to lose the remaining 12.2 lbs (or even 17.2) by 6/30 (8 weeks)!
